JOIN EFAS SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE!

Mission of the Committee: The Scientific Committee, under the supervision from EFAS Council, is in charge of putting up and organising the scientific content, propose and invited speakers and moderators for the following EFAS Events:

- EFAS International Congress (Annual Congress): Over 700 Orthopaedic surgeons with Faculty from over 20 different countries gather for a unique educational foot and ankle event every year. EFAS Congress includes conferences, debates, round tables, case-based session, interaction with Industry via workshops, and a great opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones. Abstracts for free papers and posters are evaluated by all members of the Scientific Committee.

- EFAS Specialty Day/Sessions at EFORT Congress (yearly): Foot and ankle diversity throughout Europe covering topics of interest for all the Orthopaedic Community.

We hold 2 online work meetings and 1 face-to-face meeting every year, where we work on the drafts to build EFAS meetings with the highest standards in orthopaedic education and training.

The Scientific Committee is looking for experienced orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeons committed to teaching and education to join the 8-member-Scientific-Committee team.

Applicant’s requirements:

• full-paying members of EFAS,
• provide references by 2 full members of EFAS

It is desirable for applicants to:

• have obtained EFAS Certification
• be able to demonstrate extensive experience in foot and ankle surgery,
• show active involvement in EFAS courses and events in the past years.
• to be able to demonstrate motivation and commitment to teaching at national and/or international level
• be involved in research and publications in the field of foot and ankle surgery

During application (before end May 2025), candidates are asked to fill in an application form, and to provide a short biography and personal statement.

The applications will be evaluated according to a scoring system by all the Scientific Committee members. The best candidates would then be interviewed (in June 2025) by Scientific Committee and Council members.
